Earlier this year, on what turned out to me one of many trips to Portland, we found ourselves on Cape Elizabeth south of the city visiting Portland Head Light. The late afternoon sun was low on the horizon, brining strong light on the lighthouse and dramatic shadows cast on the rock line.
